    This is a colorful retelling of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of horror was our Hammer Films trailer contest winner in February.
  • 6/12: The Conqueror (1956)
    Hollywood legend John Wayne plays Genghis Khan in what is considered one of the worst films ever made.
  • 6/19: Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter (1966)
    The title says it all. 
  • 6/26: Autumn Leaves (1956)
    "Your filthy souls are too evil for hell!" screeches the great Joan Crawford in this sometimes sensitive, sometimes over-the-top examination of mental illness.

Since we curated our "Lesser Known Ford" film series last winter, it's only fair that we devote one to director John Ford's more famous works. Guess the titles using the clues provided. Call Circulation at 614-486-2951 for the answers.
  • 8/07: Henry Fonda (get used to the name, you'll be seeing a lot of it in this film series) and John Wayne star in the first film of Ford's so-called Cavalry Trilogy from 1948. 
  • 8/14: The gunfight at the OK Corral never packed a bigger wallop than in this 1946 version, with Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell, and Victor Mature.
  • 8/21: Best Picture Oscar winner from 1941 about a family of Welsh miners and their hardscrabble lives. Starring Maureen O'Hara, Walter Pidgeon, and Roddy McDowall. 
  • 8/28 : Ford and Henry Fonda bring John Steinbeck's great American novel to cinematic life in 1940. Ranked #21 on the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest American Films.
